Tomislav Presečan, MSc, was born in Vinkovci on 3 June 1963. He graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Economics in 1987 and received his MSc in economics in 1992. He became Research Assistant at the same Faculty in 1988. He started his professional career in the Croatian National Bank in 1994 as a senior associate, to be appointed Manager of the Governor's Office and acting Executive Director of the Legal, Personnel and General Services Area in 1999. In the period from 1996 to 1999 he was Assistant to the Executive Director of the IMF Dutch Constituency. Tomislav Presečan was appointed Vicegovernor of the Croatian National Bank on 15 July 2000 pursuant to the decision of the Croatian Parliament. On 13 July 2006 the Croatian Parliament appointed Vicegovernor Presečan for a second six-year term of office.
Pursuant to the decision of the Croatian Parliament, Tomislav Presečan assumed office as Vicegovernor of the Croatian National Bank on 17 July 2012.
Vicegovernor Presečan is responsible for the co-ordination and management of affairs in the field of the Security Office, Communications Area, Planning, Controlling and Accounting Area, Information Technology Area, and Support Services Area.
