- KINEGRAM Embedded on the obverse of the genuine banknote is an iridescent metalised security foil - a kinegram, shaped as an elongated quadrangle featuring an optically variable portrait of Stjepan Radić and optically variable legends. The counterfeit banknote, however, displays only an imitation kinegram. The imitation kinegram has approximately the same form as the genuine one and gives off a pronounced silvery reflection, but its colours are not iridescent as on the genuine banknote. When the counterfeit note is tilted, the portrait outlines come into view, but the portrait does not switch from left to right and back as in the genuine kinegram. |

5 - WATERMARK The counterfeit banknote bears an imitation watermark printed on its reverse. When the counterfeit banknote is observed lying flat, the manually drawn outlines of the Stjepan Radić portrait come into view in the watermark area on its reverse. The imitation watermark is considerably different in its intensity and form than the genuine watermark. |

6 - SECURITY THREAD The security thread on the counterfeit's reverse is imitated as a grey continuous printed line of varying width, with visibly brighter outlines of the figures and letters in the legend "200 HRK". Thin coats of ink applied manually between the figures and letters were meant to imitate the silver metallic windows of the security thread, found in the genuine banknote. |

The counterfeit banknote paper is coated with cream ink, only partially absorbs UV light and produces a light violet hue. The serial marks and serial numbers on the counterfeit banknote are not fluorescent and the security thread is not iridescent under UV light. The dark outlines of the imitation watermark become clearly visible. |
