  "THE 800th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST MENTION 
OF THE NAME OF OSIJEK"

To commemorate the first mention of the name of Osijek in 1196, the Croatian  National Bank, in association with Gradska banka Osijek d.d., minted commemorative 500 kuna gold coins and commemorative 200 and 150 kuna silver coins. All these coins were minted as proofs, and were released for sale on November 15, 1996.

This edition was made by the Croatian Monetary Institute in collaboration with Austrian Mint Vienna.
