An IMF delegation visiting Croatia

Talks held at the Croatian National Bank and the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, 26 March 2009 marked the beginning of a two-week working visit of an International Monetary Fund delegation, headed by Mr. Athanasios Arvanitis. The delegation visits Croatia within regular annual consultations under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement obliging each member country to cooperate with the Fund and with other member countries, which also includes annual discussions on current economic trends. During its visit to Croatia, the IMF team will hold talks at the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Croatian Financial Services Supervision Agency, State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Rehabilitation and some other government institutions. The IMF delegation will also conduct discussions with the representatives of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Croatian Employers' Association and Croatian Banking Association, as well as some major Croatian banks. The delegation members will also meet with experts from the Institute of Economics and Institute of Public Finance.
