In cooperation with the Croatian Mint, the Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative gold coin marking the 150th birth anniversary of Andrija Mohorovičić, a prominent scientist in the field of meteorology and seismology, one of the greatest Croatian scientists and, in the opinion of geophysicists worldwide, a leading figure of seismology in the 20th century.
Minted in proof quality, the coin was released for sale on 25 February 2008.

The gold coins are considered as investment gold and their delivery is VAT exempt.
The Decision on the issue and sale of the commemorative gold coin "Andrija Mohorovičić" was published in the Official Gazette No. 22/2008, 34/2010, 120/2010, 128/2012, 121/2016 and 109/2017.
The design of the gold coin is by the sculptor Stjepan Divković.
This issue was minted by the Croatian Mint.
