The Croatian National Bank regulates and supervises the operation of credit institutions, which are the dominant intermediaries in the financial system of the Republic of Croatia. To preserve financial stability, the CNB cooperates with the HANFA and the Ministry of Finance and participates in the work of the Financial Stability Council.

The Croatian National Bank cooperates with foreign supervisory authorities on the basis of concluded bilateral agreements. Also, the CNB cooperates with the European Systemic Risk Board – CNB employees are representatives in ESRB working bodies – and the CNB responds to warnings and recommendations issued by the ESRB.
