Resolution is feasible and credible if it is carried out by resolution authorities by applying resolution tools and powers in order to avoid adverse effects on the financial system of the country in which an institution or a group of institutions has its head office, or other Member States or the European Union as a whole, and with a view to ensuring the continuity of critical functions carried out by the institution.

The Croatian National Bank is one of the resolution authorities of the Republic of Croatia which, in accordance with its legal powers, assesses the feasibility and credibility of resolution of credit institutions that experience financial difficulties.

When applying the resolution tools and exercising the resolution powers, resolution authorities shall have regard to the general principles governing resolution and the resolution objectives.
