TABLE SP5 Costs of banks' funding
The table contains aggregated unconsolidated data on interest expenses on the main funding in the balance sheet and data on the position of this funding for the authorised banks and savings banks.
The main funding includes financial liabilities distributed in the portfolio carried at amortised cost, excluding the following funding: electronic money, liabilities arising from financial lease, liabilities based on fees, liabilities based on announced dividend, liabilities to employees and other (unclassified) liabilities. It also excludes the funding denominated or indexed (with a currency clause) in currencies other than the kuna, the euro, the US dollar and the Swiss franc.
For the selected scopes of sectors and the funding, the positions of this funding are shown at the end of the month, while interest expense of holding this funding is shown during one quarter. Data on positions at the end of the month are reported on a gross basis and refer to the principal (interest excluded). The scope of funds in Scope 1 (Natural persons) and Scope 2 (Natural persons and non-financial sectors) is limited to transaction accounts and deposits, only for those that cannot be classified as a subordinated or hybrid instrument in banks' liabilities and that are not margin deposits. Scope 1 includes only the funding of natural persons, both domestic and foreign. Scope 2 includes the funding of both natural and legal persons, domestic and foreign, except for legal persons from financial sectors. Scope 3 includes all natural and legal persons (including those from financial sectors) and all main funding (transaction accounts, all deposits, including margin deposits, hybrid and subordinated instruments as well as loans received and debt securities issued).
Tables have been prepared on the basis of monthly and quarterly data which credit institutions have provided to the Croatian National Bank within the "AA – Balance sheet and off-balance sheet items" and "RA – Income statement" reports from the Decision on statistical and prudential reporting (OG 35/2010, 95/2010, 146/2010, 68/2011, 37/2012, 121/2013 and 41A/2014), applying adjusted relevant rules for the position of financial liabilities evaluated at amortised cost in supervisory reports "Balance sheet (BN1)" and "Income statement (RN)" from the Decision on supervisory reports of credit institutions (OG 41A/2014 and 127/2014).
Responsibility for all data given in these tables lies with the reporting banks and savings banks. The presentation is intended for informational purposes only, and all conclusions derived from the data provided are those of the users and cannot be attributed to the Croatian National Bank.
