The Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative 500 kuna gold coin and a commemorative 200 kuna silver coin to mark six centuries of university teaching in Zadar.
Minted in proof quality, the coins were released for sale on 24 October 1996.

The Decision on the issue and sale of commemorative gold and silver coins marking six centuries of university teaching in Zadar was published in the Official Gazette No. 87/1996, 34/2010, 120/2010, 128/2012, 121/2016 and 109/2017.
The design of the gold and silver coins is by the sculptor Kažimir Hraste.
This issue was minted by the Croatian Mint, in cooperation with Hungarian Mint Co. Ltd, Budapest.
