A cashless payment is any payment in which we do not use cash.

Any payments in which we do not use cash as a payment instrument are called cashless payments. The payment card is the most frequently used form of cashless payments in the Republic of Croatia. However, due to consumers' wish to reduce the costs in executing payment transactions and more accessible and efficient services, credit institutions today offer their clients, in addition to traditional services at branch offices, numerous digital banking services. Digital banking provides consumers with the possibility to use standard banking services through innovative communication channels. Nevertheless, the possibility to use a fast, accessible and IT advanced cashless payment should not impact significantly the approach of consumers to a responsible and prudent use of banking services.
