Payment services statistics

This link contains information for reporting entities for the collection of data in the area of payment system and electronic money.

The Decision on the obligation to submit data on the payment system and electronic money (hereinafter: Decision) entered into force on 1 January 2014. The Decision regulates the reporting entities, the content, the manner of and time limits for reporting on data on payment system and electronic money.

Reporting entities report to the Croatian National Bank in accordance with the Instructions on the manner of collection and compiling and the obligation to submit data on the payment system and electronic money (hereinafter: Instructions) and the Instructions for the production and submission of the data file with payment system and electronic money statistics (hereinafter: SPPR Instructions), which form a component part of this Decision.

The Instructions prescribe that individual data are collected for national, cross-border and international payment transactions executed in all currencies.

Pursuant to the Decision, reporting entities are, as follows:

  1. a credit institution (a bank and a savings bank) having its head office in the Republic of Croatia (hereinafter: RC),
  2. an electronic money institution having its head office in the RC,
  3. a payment institution having its head office in the RC,
  4. a branch of a third-country credit institution (a branch of a bank) having its head office in the RC,
  5. a branch of a third-country electronic money institution having its head office in the RC,
  6. a branch of a credit institution from a member state having its head office in the RC,
  7. a branch of an electronic money institution from a member state having its head office in the RC,
  8. a branch of a payment institution from a member state having its head office in the RC,
  9. representatives of payment service providers from another member state with their head office in the RC, through which these payment service providers provide payment services in the RC if these representatives also have the authorisation for the provision of payment services,
  10. the Financial Agency, and
  11. infrastructure owners.

The Instructions prescribe the compilation and submission of data on payment system and electronic money through 11 Reports:

  1. "Credit transfer" Report
  2. "Money remittance" Report
  3. "Direct debit" Report
  4. "Credit/debit without an order" Report
  5. "Cash" Report
  6. "Cheques and bills of exchange" Report
  7. "Issuing of payment instruments" Report
  8. "Accounts" Report
  9. "Infrastructure" Report
  10. "Acquiring of payment instruments" Report, and
  11. "Legal power" Report.
