Changes in financial accounts statistics: change in data in Table T2 Balance sheets for financial assets and liabilities (stocks) at the end of the year (consolidated)

Published: 28/4/2023

As of 28 April 2022, the publication of the financial accounts statistics on the stocks of financial assets and liabilities of institutional sectors has a novel element to it that involves a change in the calculation of consolidated data. More specifically, in Table T2 Balance sheets for financial assets and liabilities (stocks) at the end of the year (consolidated), the consolidated account for Total economy – Republic of Croatia and Financial corporations – total has been reconstructed. The change is the result of application of the complete consolidation method according to available data, which now excludes all mutual relationships within an economy and within sectors and subsectors. Data by instruments for Total economy – Republic of Croatia now include only the relationships between resident institutional units and non-residents, in contrast with the earlier sum of the consolidated sectors and subsectors.

Also, the time of publication of annual data has been moved from end-October to end-April.

At the time of this publication, no changes were introduced as regards quarterly data on the stock of financial assets and liabilities of institutional sectors, so they continue to be published for the period starting from the first quarter of 2012.
