
The Croatian National Bank has issued “Croatian Coldblood” gold and silver collector coins as part of the collector coins series Indigenous Croatia with commemorative motifs representing the original Croatian Coldblood horse breed with breeding area on almost the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia. The Croatian Coldblood horse is classified as an important part of the natural, cultural and economic heritage of the Republic of Croatia. The gold coins are issued in the denomination of EUR 100 and EUR 10, and the silver coins are issued in the denominations of EUR 8 and EUR 4.
The gold and silver collector coin designs are by the sculptor Nikola Vudrag. The collector coins are released for sale on 23 October 2025. The issued quantity of the EUR 100 gold collector coin in colour is limited at 100 pieces and that of the EUR 10 gold coin is limited at 1,000 pieces. The issued quantity of the EUR 8 silver coin is limited at 300 pieces and that of the EUR 4 silver coin is limited at 1,500 pieces.
The gold and silver coins will be sold by the Croatian Mint. The initial selling price for the EUR 100 gold collector coin is expected to range around EUR 4,480.03 and that for the EUR 10 gold coin around EUR 289.04. The selling price for the EUR 8 and EUR 4 silver collector coins is expected to range around EUR 499.99 and EUR 99.99 with VAT, respectively. The selling price at the time of purchase will depend on the movement in the price of gold and silver in the open market.
