The basic motif of the conceptual design of the numismatic coins is represented by Slavoljub Eduard Penkala, one of the greatest Croatian innovators, whose surname Penkala has become a synonym for ballpoint pens in the Croatian language. His greatest and most famous invention, among many others, the automatic mechanical pencil ̶ penkala, is one of the inventions of Croatian innovators that is still most widely used in the world today, which is why his work is classified as an important part of the cultural and scientific heritage of the Republic of Croatia and the world.
